CMA Intermediate (CMA Inter) is the second level of the Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA) course, conducted by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI). It consists of 8 papers divided into 2 groups, with a total of 800 marks.
CMA Inter has 2 Groups, each containing 4 papers. Group I: Papers 5 to 8. Group II: Papers 9 to 12. Students can appear for one group or both groups in an attempt.
Group I: Business Laws and Ethics (BLE), Financial Accounting (FA), Direct and Indirect Taxation (DITX), Cost Accounting (CA). Group II: Operations Management and Strategic Management (OMSM), Corporate Accounting and Auditing (CAA), Financial Management and Business Data Analytics (FMDA), Management Accounting (MA).
Each paper is 100 marks, with a 3-hour descriptive exam per paper. There are a total of 800 marks across all papers, and exams are conducted group-wise.
A candidate can register for CMA Inter if they have: passed CMA Foundation, OR completed Graduation, OR cleared ICMAI CAT, OR are in the 2nd year of graduation / engineering.
Registration is done online through the ICMAI student portal. Students must fill Form S2, submit required documents, and pay the official ICMAI fees.
June Attempt: Last date – 31st January. December Attempt: Last date – 31st July.
